Hyderabad, June 18 (NSS): The senior Congress leader and former minister, Mr T. Jeevan Reddy, has said that the Congress High Command would come down on bended knees and announce formation of Telangana State if all the elected representatives of the Congress party resigned from their posts en masse.
Speaking to mediapersons at the Assembly media point on Saturday, Mr Jeevan Reddy felt that the impasse was continuing as the ruling party lacked clarity on Telangana issue. Observing that nothing would happen even if the elected representatives of the region launched agitations like dharnas and rasta rokos, Mr Reddy felt that the Congress high command would yield if the Congress legislators tendered resignations collectively because it cannot allow its government to fall by accepting their resignations. Therefore, the Congress leaders of the Telangana region should stick to their demand, he added.
Stating that by-elections would be held if the Opposition legislators tendered their resignations, the former minister said that Telanagana State would come into being only if the ruling party legislators resorted to collective resignations. He also demanded that the Congress legislators of the region to resign immediately if they are sincere and committed to separate State.
Meanwhile, six students of the Kakatiya University went atop the District Congress Committee office building in protest against the complacent attitude of the Congress leaders towards the Telangana issue. They threatened to leap from the Congress Bhavan if the Congress leaders failed to resign from the party and posts. (NSS)

Hyderabad, June 18 (NSS): Taking serious exception to the YSR Congress Party Chief, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s criticism over PRP merger with the Congress, the PRP MLA, Mr Kannababu, has asked Mr Jagan as to how it was ethical on his part to woo MLAs from other parties when the PRP merger with Congress was not ethical.
Speaking at the Assembly mediapoint on Saturday, Mr Kannababu expressed doubts on Mr Jagan by saying that whether the latter has any knowledge about the democracy or not. He said that the PRP merger with the Congress was taking place according to the rules of constitution.
He alleged that Mr Jagan started his political career from Pavuralagutta, the place where his father died in a copter crash, with lust for power. Revealing that Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy had sent 22 MLAs to the PRP Chief, Mr Chiranjeevi, seeking his support to help him become chief minister, has no moral right to criticise Mr Chiranjeevi.
Stating that Mr Jagan had laid foundation for the YSR Congress party on the bricks of ‘corruption’, Mr Kannababu said that Mr Jagan has no courage to face the media though he had launched his party three months ago.
Demanding that the State government order an inquiry into the crores of money flowing to the “Sakshi” organisations, Mr Kannababu dared Mr Jagan to give reply to these allegations.

Hyderabad, June 18 (NSS): The Suryapet MLA and Telangana Congress senior leader, Mr R Damodar Reddy, has made it clear that ‘resignations’ would be a final weapon if the Centre failed to concede the demand for separate Telangana State when they go on fast after June. Speaking at the Assembly media point here on Saturday, Mr Reddy alleged that some Seemandhra Congress leaders were trying to create differences among the Telangana Congress leaders like the TDP Chief, Mr N Chandrababu Naidu, successfully created differences among the Telangana TDP leaders. Calling upon the Telangana Congress leaders to remain united to achieve separate Telangana State, Mr Damodar Reddy said that the Telangana protagonists have to convince the anti-Telangana Telangana leaders and Seemandhra leaders regarding separate Telangana issue. Making it clear that the Telangana Congress leaders have no habit of setting deadlines like the TRS Chief, Mr K Chandrasekhara Rao, he said that the ministers of Telangana, who abstained from visiting Delhi, were not against creation of separate Telangana. Exuding confidence that Telangana State would come into being, Mr Damodar Reddy said that the Telangana Congress leaders have conveyed the sentiment and feelings of Telangana people to the Congress high command during their recent visit to Delhi. He also said that the Congress high command has realized that the ministers, MPs and MLAs from the Telangana region remained united and there were no differences among them. Lashing out at the Vijayawada MP, Mr Lagadapati Rajagopal, for saying that the Khammam district and Hyderabad City people were against formation of Telangana State, the senior leader said it was not proper to Mr Rajagopal to talk as he wished.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Saturday, Mr Srihari demanded that Ms Sonia Gandhi open her mouth on the Telangana issue without further loss of time. He also demanded that the Congress party introduce a Bill for formation of Telangana State in the ensuing session of Parliament if has any clarity on the issue.
The former minister felt that there was urgent need for all political parties in the region to fight for Telangana State formation apolitically. The TDP leader also alleged that the Telangana Political JAC which was specifically formed for the achievement of Telangana State was playing second fiddle to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi which was not proper and reasonable. He advised the JAC to take all those fighting for Telangana along with it. He also accused the Congress leaders of totally concentrating on grabbing posts and not Telangana State.
