Kadapa, June 12 (NSS): One Chennagari Venkatesu, 24, who went to Kuwait in search of employment from the Koduru village a month ago, has committed suicide there.
According to his maternal uncle, Mr Eshwaraiah, the deceased had hanged himself in his room.
Venkatesu was working as a cook in Koduru. He had debts of Rs 3 lakhs. As his wife Nagamani has been working in Kuwait since a year, he had also chosen to go there, to clear off the debts. However, he was asked by his employer to work in the desert after going there. Mr Eswaraiah said that Venkatesu committed suicide as he could not work in the desert.
Venkatesu was given Visa by his employer as cook. However, after going there, his uncle said he was asked to work in the desert. He said that his nephew worked for some days in the desert and could not withstand the oppressive heat and adverse climate.
The deceased left behind his wife and Siva Krishna, a two-year-old son. (NSS)
