Hyderabad, July 6 (NSS): Stating that the Telangana public representatives have tendered resignations out of pain, the PCC Chief Mr Botcha Sathyanarayana has said that the Centre has to solve the Telangana issue immediately. He said that the Telangana issue will be solved if the Congress high command reveals its stand clearly. He said that he will initiate steps to bring the leaders belonging to all the regions to a single dais for deliberations on Telangana issue.

Addressing the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Wednesday, Mr Botcha has urged all the leaders belonging to all regions on behalf of PCC to cooperate with the party to create a positive atmosphere at this critical juncture, by maintaining restraint. Hoping that the issue would be solved soon, he said that the media has to give constructive suggestions to the PCC to solve the issue, instead of inciting emotional feelings. When asked about the ministers who submitted their resignations to their MLA posts, Mr Botcha said that the ministers would continue in their positions till their resignations were accepted by the Assembly Speaker.

The Justice Srikrishna Committee appointed by the Centre  has submitted its report,  giving six options to solve the  Telangana issue, he said and added that all the leaders have to sit together to discuss about the best option.

Rejecting rumors on imposition of President’s rule in the State, the PCC Chief said that he was not expecting any such move, and the Congress government will run till 2014 general elections.

He called on the Congress leaders to organize programmes like blood donation camps, distribution of fruits to the poor in the hospitals across the State on the occasion of the former Chief Minister late Dr YSR’s birth anniversary on July 8. He said that the Chief Minister and himself would pay floral tributes to the statue of Dr YSR at Punjagutta and both will participate in the programme to be held in Gandhi Bhavan later.
