Hyderabad, July 18 (NSS): Vidya Jyothi, an educational project of Operation Blessing India, organised ‘Back to School’ program for the underprivileged children of the city slums and stone cutters at KSN Gardens, Borabanda on Monday. Some 200 underprivileged children were given school bags, books and stationary free. The kids came dressed up in new uniforms and shoes provided by Operation Blessing India. The chief guest, Mr D. Sreenivasulu, Secretary to Government, presented school bags, books and stationary to the children.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Sreenivasulu appreciated the efforts of Operation Blessing India for making a difference in the lives of the children and added that Labour, employment, training and factories department, Government of Andhra Pradesh would work along with NGOs like Operation Blessing India and others for the welfare of construction workers and children of various labourers. He also added that they will have a mobile van to reach out to such under privileged children to help them study. The function was also graced by Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner and various officers of the Labour Department. Dr Rajesh Dasari, Director and Mr Vivian Isaac, Manager of Operation Blessing India, were also present. (NSS)
