Hyderabad, July 20(NSS): The State government has accorded permission to the Commissioner and Director of Agriculture to distribute 9000 million tons (for Kharif and Rabi 2011) of Zinc Sulphate for Paddy Crop on 50% subsidy at Rs 36,300 per MT inclusive of all taxes and service handling charges during 2011-12. It also nominated the AP MARKFED as Nodal Agency for distribution of Zinc Sulphate to all districts.
According to a GO issued on Wednesday, the Commissioner of Agriculture reported to the government that the fertility index of P2O5 shows high (less than 2.33) in Visakhapatnam, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Ranga Reddy, Nalgonda and other districts and based on the analysed Soil Sample data, the availability of Zinc to the plant was hampered. Therefore, Zinc Sulphate has to be applied to the crop to optimum yields.
Keeping this view, the Commissioner of Agriculture has requested the government to accord permission to distribute 9,000 MT (for Kharif and Rabi 2011) of Zinc Sulphate for paddy crop on 50% subsidy at rates finalized by tender committee per MT during 2011-12 and nominate AP MARKFED as Nodal Agency.(NSS)
