Hyderabad, July 21 (NSS) Telangana Employees JAC President Mr. Swamy Goud has expressed surprise at the government propose to invoke the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) on the Telangana employees participating in the general strike.
Talking to the media here on Thursday, he said these were not new to the employees and has asserted that they could not be cowed down with such threats. Stating that the employees would not fear such threats, Swamy Goud has questioned how far it was justifiable on the part of the Chief Minister Mr. N. Kirankumar Reddy to order for invocation of ESMA without even considering the reasons why they proposed to go on general strike.
Swamy Goud has said it was unfortunate that the Chief Minister has chosen to invoke ESMA without even calling them for talks. He said they were willing to discuss the matter with the government. He said they would meet all the employees unions on Friday and decide the strike dates.
Stating that they were going on strike for the emancipation of mother Telangana, another employees leader Mr. Devi Prasad has asserted that they would not fear anything in this fight. He said they would continue their fight till Telangana was achieved. Maintaining that all the JACs in Telangana were prepared to go on strike, he said the strike would be successful despite all the hurdles the government proposed to create, said Mr. Srinivasa Goud, a third leader.
