Hyderabad, July 31 (NSS) Inflows from the Alamatti and Narayanapur reservoirs into Srisailam have come down on Sunday. This was due to reduction in the rain fall in the catchment areas of Alamatti and other projects up stream in the Karnataka state.
While there was an inflow of 1.45 lakh cusecs into Srisailam till Friday, it has come down to 69,000 cusecs by Saturday. While the Full Reservoir Level of the Srisailam Dam is 885 feet, the present level is 861.4 feet. Irrigation authorities are releasing 10,000 cusecs of water into the Nagarjuna Sagar reservoir. While the FRL of Sagar is 590 feet, the present level is 552 feet. If the project receives 8 more tmc of water the Tungabhadra reservoir would be full. Presently, the reservoir is receiving 26,000 cuses of water per day. Sri Ram Sagar project is receiving 20,000 cusecs per day. (NSS)
Singitam and Kalyani projects overflowing
Nizamabad, Singitam and Kalyani projects in Nizamsagar mandal of the district are overflowing.
There was a heavy downpour in the area on Saturday night.local authorities have said that there was a rain fall of about 17 centemetres in the area. Though all the gates were raised, there were still excess inflows.
