GENERAL MOTORS LAUNCHES CHEVROLET BEAT

Hyderabad, Aug.2 (NSS): General Motors India launched the much-awaited diesel version of its dynamic and elegant Chevrolet Beat today at a ceremony presided over by its vice-president, Mr P. Balendran. The all-new Beat Diesel sports the 1.0 XSDE SMARTECH engine developed specifically for India by the GM Technical Centre in Bengaluru in collaboration with GM Power-train Europe. “Offering a diesel engine developed for Indian consumers in our most popular model is a momentous achievement for GM India,” said Mr Balendran during the launch. “We are confident that with its best-in-segment design, performance and safety, the Beat Diesel will set a new industry benchmark and be a winner with local car buyers.” Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sumit Sawhney, Vice President, Marketing, Sales and After Sales said, “India is a key market for General Motors and our Chevrolet brand. We are focused on leveraging our unmatched resources to create value for our local customers in all areas, including price, fuel efficiency, performance, safety, styling and reliability.
