Hyderabad, Sept. 12 (NSS): The Telugu Desam party supremo, Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu, here on Monday said that the party doors are wide open if the party founder’s son and actor, Mr Nandamuri Balakrishna, wants to enter active politics.
Speaking to mediapersons, Mr Naidu said it will be good for the party if Mr Balakrishna takes a plunge into active politics and he would welcome him warmly. Stating that Mr Balakrishna’s entry into politics was not new, Mr Naidu pointed out that the actor had canvassed for the party during previous elections. “If Mr Balakrishna enters active politics, the party would decide how and where to utilise his services for the benefit of the party,” he added.
Accusing the Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, of telling “stories” on providing employment to the youths, the former chief minister said that industrialists were “running away” on account of corruption blow. Mr Naidu also accused the Congress government with badly neglecting the farming community in the State. He also alleged that the helpless farmers had opted to announce crop holiday in about three lakh acres due to utter negligence by the government.
Complaining that tenant farmers were not getting crop loans in spite of distribution of loan cards to them, the former chief minister said that the farmers have come to a conclusion that farming has become a dead weight under present circumstances. He also alleged that majority of farmers were groaning under indebtedness due to the anti-farmer policies of the State and Union governments.
Declaring that the Telugu Desam party would stand by the distressed farmers at this critical juncture, the former chief minister said that his party would launch stage dharnas, agitations and signature campaign in support of farmers.
