Hyderabad, Aug. 17 (NSS): Andhra Mahila Sabha College of Fine Arts and Media Education will be offering part-time certificate course in Anchoring, dubbing, news reading and acting.

In a press release, the principal and secretary of the college, Ms M.B. Kameswari, stated that the duration of the course is three months and the new batch will start from September 2.

The principal also stated that a training programme for Audition in Light Music will be started at the college on September 2. Training will be given by a well-known composer. The candidates are required to register their names at the college office by August 27.

There is neither age limit nor educational qualifications for joining the course, she added. Both men and women are eligible to join the course and last date of submitting applications is August 27.

Hyderabad, Aug. 17 (NSS): The State government has enhanced the remuneration of the Contract Lecturers of Government Polytechnics to Rs 19,000 from Rs 10,000 per month  from the Academic Year 2011-12.

According to a GO issued on Wednesday, the Commissioner of Technical Education has informed the government that as per Revised Scales of Pay – 2010, the minimum time scale of pay of Lecturers in Government Polytechnics is Rs 19,050 – 45,850. It was ordered that the remuneration of the personnel working on contract/outsourcing basis shall be fixed not exceeding the minimum time scale attached to the equivalent category of the relevant post in the Revised Pay Scales of Pay-2010. Hyderabad, Aug.3 (NSS): Dr. Rathi V Iyer has spent 30 years in research and cure for sickle cell cancer
in children, at the Children’s Cancer Clinic at the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s, Blair
E. Batson Hospital for children. Sickle cell anemia is a serious condition in which the body makes
crescent shaped blood cells ,that are sticky cannot flow through the veins, and they block the blood
flow from organs causing pain and organ damage. The University of Mississippi Medical Center will
be honoring her with Excellence award at a ceremony at the Mississippi Medical center on 5th August
2011.
Dr. Iyer has served in Worcester City Hospital in Massachussetts, Detroit Medical Center and
Children’s Hospital in Detroit.
Dr. Iyer was born into a family of educationists and a product
of Stanley Girls High School, Chapel Road, Hyderabad and a graduate from Gandhi Medical

Hyderabad, Aug.3 (NSS): Bhavan’s Gandhi institute of Computer Education and Information

Hyderabad, Aug.3 (NSS): The Chief Minister Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy today thanked the Union
Minister for Human Resources Development, Mr Kapil Sibal for releasing Rs.409.77 crore to Andhra
Pradesh as first installment of non-recurring grants for setting up 353 new model schools in the
educationally backward blocks in the State.
The Government of India has sanctioned the amount to the Andhra Pradesh Secondary Education
Society, Hyderabad under Centrally sponsored programme of "Schemes for setting up of 6,000
model schools at Block level as benchmark of excellence" in the educationally backward blocks of
the country. The grant is towards plan expenditure and would be utilised on the programme as per
approved guidelines of Centrally Sponsored Scheme of setting up of 3,500 model schools in the
first phase all over the country. The State Government will release its share to the A.P. Secondary
Education Society. The Ministry of HRD also said that the next installment will be released after the
receipt of expenditure statement in respect of grants released and at least 50% of the grants released
have been utilised.
It may be recalled here that in the recently concluded Education Fortnight 1,067 High School
Complexes were inaugurated and foundation stone laid for 75 Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidhyalaya's
(GBVs) and 500 additional high school complexes in different parts of the State. Total Expenditure
towards education improvement during the Education Fortnight being Rs.2,500 crs., also includes
20,000 additional classroom, Children's enrolment and entitlement were the focal issues. Distribution
of Uniforms and Textbooks were also taken up on a massive way. It may be stated here that the State
Government also decided to introduce English as a subject from Class -I.
The Ministry of HRD also sanctioned Rs.2.32 crore to Andhra Pradesh Secondary Education
Society as Grants in aid under the same scheme. Model Schools have been sanctioned in the following

Hyderabad, Aug.2 (NSS): The Army sought applications from unmarried male Engineering
degree students studying in Pre-Final Year (III Year) in academic session July 2011-2012 for
grant of permanent Commission in the Army in all Arms/Services. In addition, students in Final
Year Engineering Degree can exercise their option for Technical Graduate Course/Short Service
Commission (TGC-115 (July 2012) and SSC (Tech) Men (Oct 2012).
Unmarried women candidates in Final Year may apply for SSC (T) Women-10 commencing
from October 2012. Regarding information on vacancies, eligibility criteria, an advertisement has been
published in all national dailies/Employment News on July 2 and website www.indianarmy.nic.in and

A team of Army officers will be visiting all engineering colleges during August and September
