YERRABELLI DEMANDS SPEAKER’S DISMISSAL

Hyderabad, July 24 (NSS): TDP Telangana forum convener Mr. Yerrabelli Dayakara Rao has demanded the removal of the Speaker of the Assembly Mr. Nadendla Manohar for rejecting the resignations of MLAs of all parties from the Telangana region on the statehood issue.

Addressing the media along with party senior leader Mr. Motkupalli Narasimhulu and others here on Sunday, he has alleged that the Speaker’s decision was a conspiracy of the Congress party to block the formation of the Telangana state. Asserting that there was no going back on their resignations, Mr. Dayakara Rao has expressed suspicion that even if they submit their resignations once again, the Speaker might again reject them. He said they would be consulting legal luminaries to avoid such a contingency.

Stating that some MPs were away from the city, Mr. Dayakara Rao has said that all the TDP leaders including the 31 MLAs who resigned and MPs would be meeting at Hyderabad on Monday and taking a decision on their future course of action. He has claimed that only because of the resignations of 31 TDP MLAs, the Congress high command has come down and started talks with the Congress leaders. He has also said that it was because of their resignations, the Congress MLAs and Ministers were forced to resign. He said there would be no going back on their resignations, and they would continue their fight till Telangana state was conceded by the central government.

Mr. Motkupalli Narasimhulu has said that the TDP would achieve Telangana state by creating a constitutional crisis. He has expressed doubts that the Congress party was trying to cajole the party MLAs and thereby water down the Telangana movement. He said speaker rejecting the resignations was part of this conspiracy. He said it was unfortunate that the centre had not bothered to act, even though  more than 600 students have laid down their lives for Telangana. Describing the resignations as a conspiracy of the government, he said through this act, the Speaker and the Congress government had insulted the people of Telangana. He said AICC state incharge leader Mr. Gulam Nabi Azad’s recent statements made it clear that the government was not willing to concede Telangana. He has said that the TDP would continue its fight until the Telangana state was carved out. He has called upon the Congress ministers and MLAs to stick to their resignations and not compromise on their demand of statehood to Telangana. (NSS)
